The past year, I've been working on a few articles about a psychological perspective on art. I apply some ideas from analytical psychology (C.G. Jung) to discuss how art affects a viewer. Two articles have appeared in the Jung Journal: Culture & Psyche: Looking at Vermeer and Looking at Botticelli. A third one is anticipated in early 2025: Looking at the Alhambra.

I recently had a talk I gave at a conference in the U.K. in April 2024 published. It is in the Journal of Analytical Psychology. I spoke and wrote about gender fluidity among contemporary youth. I discuss how archetypal manifestations enter into collective consciousness. This process humanizes an archetype over longer periods of time, in this case, an archetype of gender variations.

I am working on a new book about clinical work with adolescent boys and young men. It is a follow-up to my book Male Alienation. I will be discussing topics such as the male body, internet/screen uses, defenses of the male psyche, clinical approaches that seem to work better for boys and men, and updating older theories about gender, sexuality, and masculinity. I hope to finish it some time in 2026.
