The Psychology of Theft and Loss: Stolen and Fleeced was my first book. It is about stealing. We learn to steal at early ages and most often in our families. I cover topics like shoplifting, plagiarism, kidnapping, theft online, and economic reasons for theft.
An important way to background a story is by showing it's been around for ages. Myths and fairy tales provide instances of this. In this book, I look at the myth of Jason and the Argonauts to appreciate an ancient telling of theft. Jason stole the Golden Fleece because he was told it would restore his birthright as ruler of his father's kingdom.
I use many examples to get to a simple conclusion. We all have a thief inside us. Available through the publisher or order at your local bookstore.
